The blushing bride (Serruria florida) is one of many favourites at the South African stand at the RHS Chelsea flower show. Endemic to the Franschhoek valley this endangered wild flower has been cloned and planted for cut flower production in the Cape. The only way to protect it in the wild is to look after its fragile habitat which is threatened by invasive pines and too frequent fires. | Leon Kluge
